Tom had to go to work on Tuesday so I was chief entertainer for the day so a busy day was planned. Again it was a beautiful sunny day so we decided to visit the Gardens of the World in Hope - a couple of kilometers outside Richmond. The plan was to get there about 10am and enjoy the gardens before it got too hot. Unfortunately Isabel(J) woke up with a bit of a migraine so we left it a bit later before we left the house. I think Isabels headache may have been a combination of jet lag as well as dehydration. It had been very hot the day before and she hadn't had much water throughout the day. She was quite insistent that it was nothing to do with the gin or the red wine she had had the night before!!
The Gardens of the World are 6-acres of beautiful gardens. The gardens have a range of native and exotic plants, formal gardens, water features and large open space.
It was first planted in 1990, so now is a mature garden. Everything grows very quickly here in NZ but it quite amazing to think that all these mature trees were only planted 15-18 years ago.
We had a very pleasant hour of so wandering around taking pictures.
